Champion Tile of Bedford Hills Inc. was first opened on February 18th 1995 by Robert Ward and Michael Morgado. Bob and Mike acquired the former Champion Tile Inc. and became incorporated January 21st 1995. Bobhad been a  former employee for six years before he availed of the opportunity to purchase the business.

  Having several years of experience in the tile industry, Bob was able to see the potential  in this undertaking. After several weeks of research into the financial viability of the business, Bob approached Mike with pursuing the challenge.

 With only the two of them to run the store and with only one of them with any knowledge of the tile industry they were able to make the store profitable in the first six months of business. That is quite remarkable considering their labor force at the time. There family and friends played a pivotal role in the success of Champion Tile, and two current employee's : Bobs brother Richard,  who is the distribution manager and , Bob's nephewChristian Pentz, who is the stores supervisor.

 In June 2003 Bob and Mike undertook the opening of Champion Tile and Baths of Pawling. They were offered property off of Route 22 in that town and they saw the potential of the 5000 square foot frontage as a great designer showroom and more than 10,ooo square foot warehouse space. 

 With the help of staff and family as well as a few contractors . The 5000 sf showroom was built and ready for opening in fewer than two months.

 Grand opening was August 16th 2003. The store has been re-designed since then but is no less awesome , with over 30 vignettes and well over 100,000 square foot of tile installed and grouted.
